Structural - Anchor Plate Guidelines

It a prerequisite that at all times both top and bottom of the upright are securely fixed either to a shelf or to the floor.

1. Up to 1.8m high - not exceeding 500 kgs per bay
- not exceeding 600mm shelf depth
Two anchor plated levels top, plus one up from the ground which is not above 600mm.
Otherwise three anchor plated levels.

2. 2.1m to 2.4m high - not exceeding 1000 kgs per bay
Three anchor plated levels (top, middle plus one up from the ground which is not above 450mm. Otherwise four anchor plated levels.

3. 3.0m to 3.6m high - not exceeding 1000 kgs per bay
Four anchor plated levels - evenly spaced with the bottom level not above 450mm from the ground.

Anchor plates should be fitted through the depth of the shelving at every second bay except in the case of shelves over 600mm deep then they should be fitted at every bay.

Anchor plating will enable a shelving unit to retain its shape. To prevent toppling, units should not exceed the following height to base ratios without additional external bracing. (Top ties and/or dynabolting footings).

Units up to 2.4m 4 : 1 (height is not more than 4 x base)

Above this height, additional external bracing is required.
Shelf Weight Capacities Maximum U.D.L.
900mm x 300mm (M3ND) 170 kgs
900mm x 400mm (M4ND) 170 kgs
900mm x 450mm (M450ND) 170 kgs
900mm x 600mm (M6ND) 170 kgs
900mm x 600mm (M6HD 1 Rib) 190 kgs
900mm x 750mm (M750ND) 160 kgs
900mm x 750mm (M750HD 1 Rib) 180 kgs
900mm x 900mm (M9ND) 150 kgs
900mm x 900mm (M9HD 2 Rib) 180 kgs

The above loadings are based on shelves supported on four standard, number 3 clips. Loadings can be increased by 20% only if shelves are bolted on all four corners (i.e: four posts per bay).

All shelves above are available in 600mm module.

Fastening Requirements - Box Bays

A) 4 Anchor Plated Levels
Starter Bay 4 posts 6mm x 12mm = 80
6mm x 20mm = 16
Middle Bay 4 posts 6mm x 12mm = 64
6mm x 20mm = 32
End Bay 2 posts 6mm x 12mm = 48

B) 3 Anchor Plated Levels
Starter Bay 4 posts 6mm x 12mm = 60
6mm x 20mm = 12
Middle Bay 4 posts 6mm x 12mm = 48
6mm x 20mm = 24
End Bay 2 posts 6mm x 12mm = 36

C) 2 Anchor Plated Levels
Starter Bay 4 posts 6mm x 12mm = 40
6mm x 20mm = 8
Middle Bay 4 posts 6mm x 12mm = 32
6mm x 20mm = 16
End Bay 2 posts 6mm x 12mm = 24

If feet are required on each post, allow 1 x 6mm x 12mm per post.
If units are installed back to back, allow 3 x 6mm x 20mm / alternative bay to join.
