Hydestor has been designing, manufacturing, and installing shelving solutions and storage systems across New Zealand for nearly 80 years. Since 1947, our focus has remained entirely on delivering high-quality shelving systems tailored to the specific needs of our clients.

What began as a small business has grown into a trusted supplier for some of New Zealand’s leading organisations, including businesses, schools, councils, and museums. Backed by more than 80 years of combined industry experience within our leadership team, we bring the technical expertise needed to ensure every solution is engineered to hold and built to last.

Manufacturing Excellence

Hydestor’s production is managed by our sister company, Metal Skills, at a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant. This unique partnership allows us to be an "all-in-one house," where we control the entire lifecycle of our shelving solutions—from the initial CAD design to the final powder coating.

Our facility boasts computer-controlled manufacturing processes and a semi-automated powder coating line, ensuring that every component meets our rigorous quality standards. By purchasing our steel and powder finishing locally, we ensure that typically 95% of our componentry is New Zealand made, directly contributing to the local economy.
